Just want to let this out before I hit the sack.
When Jay tweeted this, people were quick to jump on his throat calling him hypocrite, ungrateful, liar for forgetting about JYP because apparently for them, no JYP no Jay Park.
No JYP, no Jay Park. L - O - Fucking - L
First, let me address his “no company made me” tweet. Did he say anything about forgetting his roots though? It’s a very simple phrase, I don’t get why people make it so complicated. No company made Jay, not JYP, not Sidus. Sidus DO NOT interfere with Jay’s music; Sidus DO NOT tell Jay how he should act; Sidus DO NOT restrict the things Jay wants to do; the people he wants to work with; the time when he drops his album; the free music he gives to his fans. That’s the Jay Park we know - carefree, honest, real, dope. Sidus manages his career in a business perspective. Jay is as free as shit now because that’s what he wanted BEFORE he signed with Sidus. It’s not Sidus who offered him freedom, it’s Jay who wanted it and Sidus compromised and agreed to it.
Now on to JYP. I don’t even get why people need to mention him. Why? Because without him Jay wouldn’t be where he is now? Really though? There is so much fuckery in that sentence, I can’t even.
I am not saying Jay should forget all together about his past. No. I am saying people should STOP PUTTING TOO MUCH CREDIT ON THE PAST.
Yes, JYP chose Jay when he auditioned. JYP made Jay 2pm’s leader. JYP jump started Jay’s career in Korea… but JYP also killed Jay’s career. Regardless of which story you chose to believe, it was JYP who terminated Jay’s contract; it was JYP who said Jay had done something “not illegal but will shock the society” mistake; and it was JYP who cockblocked the shit out of Jay.
Whatever happened in the past, it cannot be denied that JYP played a major role in putting Jay’s name out there. He will forever have that credit but to say that JYP made Jay who he is now is just pure bullshit.
And for people to keep putting their words on Jay’s mouth like he should always pay tribute to JYP is just plain ridiculous. Look at JYP as one of your teacher who taught you a lot of things. When you finally become successful one day, should you forever give them credit for the things you have achieved? No. You should be grateful for the things you learned but it’s not your teachers who made you successful, it’s you - your hard work, perseverance, and desire to achieve what you want. Thanks to your teacher for teaching you a lot of things but if you had a different teacher then, the lessons are the same. Thankful to them but not to the point where you say without them, you wouldn’t be where you are now. Know what i’m saying?
Jay is where he is now because of his hard work; because he chose to stay positive; because he found strength from his family, friends and fans. And that’s WHAT HE IS SAYING ON HIS TWEET.
NO COMPANY IS TELLING HIM TO DO THIS AND THAT. NO COMPANY, PAST OR PRESENT, IS TELLING HIM SHIT.
That is all there is to his tweet. I don’t get why people be jumping on that JYP bandwagon. All these words I typed about JYP fucking wasted so much of my time. lmao, and it’s not and shouldn’t even have been part of the discussion! :)
